This  peach pie is PERFECT!!!  Do you remember the Blueberry Cream Pie I made for you back at the end of May?  This is the same recipe only made with PEACHES!!  I had very ripe peaches to make this with, the peach flavor in this pie was incredible!  It's the first thing you taste, it doesn't have to compete with any other flavors in the pie.  The sour cream nestles the peaches in a creamy layer while the topping adds a crunch to the pie.   This Peaches and Cream Pie recipe came from Food.com. It was very easy to make and would be a GREAT dessert to take to your Labor Day picnic.

You'll need a pie crust, either homemade or store bought to start with.  Dice up 3 cups of peaches and lay them in the bottom of your unbaked pie crust.  Whisk together the sugar, flour, salt, eggs and sour cream.  Pour the mixture over the peaches.

Mix the crumb topping together and sprinkle over the unbaked pie.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 60 minutes or until golden Brown.  I always put my pies on a cookie sheet to bake.  This is an unforgettable peach pie, you won't make this just once. After you taste it, your HOOKED!  Enjoy!

Peaches and Cream Pie

Ingredients
3 cups fresh peeled and chopped peaches
1 unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie pastry
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
Topping
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter
1 fresh peach, sliced for garnish if desired

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
Place 3 cups fresh peaches into pie pastry.
In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, and salt.
Add eggs and sour cream.
Blend well.
Spoon mixture over peaches.
Topping
In a separate bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and 1/4 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse meal.
A pastry blender works well, but two forks or two knives will also work.
Sprinkle meal mixture evenly over pie.
Bake 60 minutes or until golden.
Garnish with fresh peach slices, if desired.
Refrigerate leftovers.
Here's a peach tip.... If you have peaches that might need a little help with flavor, add 1 -2 TBLS of peach jam heated up to melt and mix it in with your peaches. You can use this tip for any recipe you make with peaches.

  7. Mahnoor, yes you could make it with canned peaches, I would cut back on the sugar in the filling by about 1/4 cup because of the syrup the peaches sit in.

Debby, I think I like the peach better too! I can't explain it, it's just so good!

Mary, thank you Mary! It was so easy to make and it was incredible to boot!

  9. It looks delicious! Mine is in the oven right now! I used all brown sugar vs the white, and added a little vanilla extract, & a sprinkle of cinnamon & nutmeg to the filling as well as a little cinnamon & nutmeg to the topping. I'll let you know how it turns out. Oh, and I had more peaches so mine has about 4+ cups of peaches.

  13. This looks soooo good. We don't get good peaches here ... I won't even buy them. Do you think that frozen peaches would work?
