Daring Baker Challenge - Caramel Cake with Caramelized Butter Frosting

Picture cake and rolls 280

This is my Daring Baker Challenge for November and also my husbands Birthday Cake!!  To Read More, Click On The Recipe Title.

Today is his birthday, Happy Birthday Honey!!! I really enjoyed making this, it wasn'tt hard to make at all. This Daring Baker Challenge came to us from Shuna Fish Lydon from Eggbeater. This is her signature Caramel Cake. Dolores from Culinary Curiousity is hosting this event along with co-hosts Alex from Blondie and Brownie, Jenny of Foray into Food. And taking care of the gluten free bakers - Natalie of Gluten-a-Go-Go . You can find the recipe here. The only problem I had was making the caramel syrup but my second attempt gave me what I was looking for a nice amber colored syrup.

Once you have the syrup right everything else is a breeze. The cake batter came together very well.

I baked this in a 9 inch springform pan.

It baked up beautifully. All I had to do now was make the frosting and decorate. I tried to make this a little fancy cause it was for my honey's birthday so I made chocolate curls ( or I tried to!) It didn't turn out to bad! I can't wait for him to get home so we can cut and taste it!! I would definetly make this again, thanks to Shuna and our hosts for picking such a darn good cake!

That is a gorgeous cake!!! I'm a little afraid of caramel, even though I've done it successfully many times, I'm freaked out by the two or three times I've had trouble.
